Working together.

Ministries

We have come to know Jesus as the One who came to lovingly serve us by giving his life for us. He is in the process of teaching how to love him and one another by ministering (serving). God says in Ephesians that "We are God's workmanship created to do good deeds which He has prepared in advance for us to do." When we are serving as God designed us, then we are discovering how rich a well-lived life can be and we rejoice in being able to bring even more recognition to Him. We are learning that volunteering not only affects those we serve, it can also be a life-changing experience for us! We invite you to experience our great adventure with us!

Ministries to Children, Youth, and Families

Sunday School open to any child

Our trained teachers lovingly communicate the truths of many Bible stories through lessons, crafts, and interactive methods in graded classes from tiny tots to 8th grade. Led by the guitar, each week they join together in joyfully singing Christian songs. This is a wonderful way to connect our children with the ancient biblical persons such as Adam, Eve, Abraham, Moses, David, and especially Jesus. There is no charge for these lessons. Feel free to attend with your child. Every Sunday at 9:15. Click here to read more about our Sunday School.

Free Baptisms (for any child or adult who requests it)

There is no charge for a baptism at Christ Lutheran. This is part of our ongoing ministry to our members, their families, and to our community. We pray that God would use this special event to strengthen your own faith and your appreciation of his grace. Learn more about Baptisms at Christ Lutheran by visiting this page: Baptism at CLC.

Toys.

Staffed Nursery During Worship

Because it is important that all who worship can do so without distraction, we provide parents a place where their small children can be lovingly cared for while Mom and Dad are in the worship service. We love it when the whole family is able to worship together, but we certainly realize that it takes time for little ones to learn to participate, perhaps a step at a time. We love our families! If you have any questions, please contact Jenny Poole.

Ministries for Adults

Sunday Morning Bible Class

Each Sunday our Pastor leads us in a careful look at God's word, both to learn what it says and also how to apply it to our lives, usually with some well-crafted questions that get a healthy response from the class! These studies range quite widely, from verse by verse studies to current events in the light of Scripture. Anyone who wishes to join in is welcome.

Growth Group (small group) Meetings in Member Homes

Many members and friends appreciate the chance to get to know one another better and to study God's word together in smaller groups.

Led by trained lay leaders in an informal atmosphere, these groups are open to anyone who might be curious about the Bible or about us! For more information, click here. Our hosts/hostesses would greatly appreciate it if you would let them know when you are coming. All are welcome!

Bible Information Class (BIC)

Pastor Samelson is always ready to share what God's word teaches about the basic truths and practices of our faith. The BIC is a great way to learn about Lutheranism in a relaxed atmosphere. We encourage anyone who is interested in membership to experience this class. Classes are usually arranged in consultation with participants to work best with their schedules. Contact Pastor Samelson.

World-wide Mission Support

We are aware that there are millions who do not yet know the wonder of God's love in Jesus. We are doing as much as we can in our local area, but realize that we cannot cover the rest of the world by ourselves. So we eagerly and substantially support missionaries and mission congregations throughout North America and the entire world. In order to do this efficiently, we have joined with more than 1200 other congregations in the WELS, a church body that is dedicated to doing all it can to bring Jesus to our world. Click here to read more about WELS World Missions. To see WELS Home Missions, use the following link: WELS Home Missions.

Prayer Ministry

A group of us have formed a prayer chain and are ready and willing to pray for anyone who requests us to ask God for his help. If you would like us to pray for you, please contact Pastor Samelson: click here to send an email.

River Hill July 4th Parade "Drill" Team

Each year we chuck flags into our battery-powered drills and load up with bags of candy, frisbees, and other good things, practice our "routines" and march in the parade. We love meeting the thousands who line the route, especially the children who eagerly reach for the gifts we toss out to them.
